INTRODUCTION
The second Sacrament at the Service of Communion is the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. It is much more than a mere contract or agreement. Matrimony is a sacrament that joins a man and a woman in a covenant for life – a holy union created by God. The love that exists between a husband and a wife is expressed in their desire for what is best for the other: to help each other get to Heaven and to raise Christian children who will join them there some day.
Christ’s Example of Love
In the Gospel of St. John, Christ tells his disciples that God is love. God is all merciful and all giving. His greatest wish is to give himself entirely to us, whom he loves, and for us to give ourselves entirely to him, loving him with our whole hearts and minds. This love of God manifests itself in many concrete ways, especially in the love of Christ for His Church. There is no greater example of this than the sacrament of Matrimony in its true form.

MEETINGS WITH THE PRIEST OR DEACON
You will meet with the Priest or Deacon who will be presiding at your wedding. The number of sessions will be determined by him as he gets to know you and what areas you are strong in and where you need strengthening. We understand that work schedules may mean meetings outside of office hours (9a-4p, Mon-Fri) and the meetings will be scheduled accordingly.
There will be information given to you about a Marriage preparation workshop that you will need to attend. You will both be asked to participate in an marriage inventory called FOCCUS. This will bring up talking points for your meetings with the presider. As time gets closer to the wedding date, the actual ceremony will be planned.
